Damnit, I had firmly planned NOT to make a journal about it, but I have to say something.
As you may have noticed, there`s a rather big drama going on at
's account. Someone accused her ( in a very mean and immature way ) to trace her drawings. I`ve already left my two cents in Andrea's jorunal, but I`m literally shocked by the blindness and aggressiveness. And I`m not just talking about the people who are against Andrea.
I`m sorry to say that but I`m really dissappointed in the way many of her fans react. Sure, you all want to defend her because she`s your friend or / and your favourite artist. Perfectly fine.
But when the only justifications I read are
"They`re only jealous!"
"You don`t copy!"
"What you do is totally alright!"
"Whoever accused you of this was completely blind!"
then I start to wonder who is in fact blind.
I won`t post the link to the "tracing proof" that was spread all over the place here, because most people have seen it anyway.
You know ( or should know ) that I`m unbiased concerning this drama, I`m neither one of the blind followers nor do I dislike Andrea, because she IS a nice person.
DID copy some screenshots without giving credit.She DIDN`T trace, because as several people noticed, the lines of original picture and her drawings don`t match exactly and I believe her when she said she didn`t do it.
People mainly talk about the pictures which were clearly copied / referenced, and tend to ignore the bigger part of Andrea`s gallery which was drawn-free hand. Why I am so sure?
Because I know "Treasure Planet" by heart and although there are the occasional pictures where I immediately notice "Oh, it`s a screenshot again.", there are also a lot of pictures that show Silver or other characters in poses she must have drawn from her memory because those characters were never animated in those poses in the movie.
Andrea, you CAN draw without copying screenshots, we all have seen it. It`ll be hard in the beginning when you are confronted with difficult poses or expressions, but it will help you to improve as an artist. Trust me.
And to her fans :
Please, people, don`t ignore the evidence! She DID copy SOME screenshots, you can`t be so blind about the facts.
The person who accused her surely wasn`t jealous. It may sound harsh now, but there are many people who noticed long ago that Andrea heavily referenced some screenshots, we just didn`t want to cause a drama because of that. :/
So, to sum it up ( I`m rambling too much again, sorry ).
: Stop copying or at least post a link to the referenced pictures when you think that you really can`t avoid it in some pictures.DF01's fans : Finally open your eyes and realize that what she did wasn`t right. You can still be her friend and look up to her. We`re all just humans and make mistakes. It`s normal. Nobody`s perfect.
DF01's "opponents" : Attacking and insulting her won`t help anybody.
Whoever made that ED-article about her : Get a life.
So, let`s just all end this drama, because I really think Andrea has learned her lesson.
I just wanted to make clear that it is NOT "completely okay" to copy, as many of her fans seem to think.
